By Rising Star IT Services
Last updated: 28 December 2025
Rising Star IT Services (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the mobile application Bible – Daily Verse Journal (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with your use of the App.
By installing or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
The App is designed to work without requiring an account or registration. We do not ask you to provide your name, email address, or other contact details inside the App.
However, you may voluntarily enter personal or sensitive information into the App, for example:
- Prayer entries (titles, details, categories, status)
- Journal entries (notes, reflections, thoughts, Bible references)
All of this content is stored locally on your device and is not automatically transmitted to us.
Important: If you choose to include personal details (such as names, health information, or other sensitive data) in your prayers or journal, that information will be stored on your device. We do not have access to it unless you separately choose to send it to us (for example, via email support).
1.2 Information collected automatically
The App itself collects minimal information. However, certain data may be collected automatically by third-party services integrated into the App (for example, advertising SDKs) as described below.
Types of data that may be collected automatically include:
Device and usage information
- Device model, operating system version, language, approximate location (e.g., country or region), IP address, app version, and basic interaction data (such as ad views and clicks).
- This information is mainly used by third-party services to provide and improve their features (e.g., serving and measuring ads).
Advertising identifiers
- Your device’s advertising ID (such as Google Advertising ID on Android) may be collected and used by third-party advertising partners for ad serving, frequency capping, fraud detection, and (if enabled) personalized ads.
We do not collect or store passwords, payment information, or government IDs through the App.
1.3 Information from third-party APIs (Bible verse service)
The App may request Bible verse text from an external Bible API provider (for example, a public Bible API service) when:
- Loading the daily verse
- Loading Bible passages based on references
When your device sends these requests, the API provider may receive:
- Your device’s IP address
- The requested Bible reference
- Basic technical information (such as request time, user agent, and error logs)
These requests are sent directly from your device to the third-party provider, and their use of data is governed by their own privacy policy. We do not control their data practices.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
To provide the core App features
- Display daily Bible verses
- Store and show your prayer list and journal entries locally
- Remember your settings (such as notification time)
To provide local notifications
- Schedule and show daily reminders to read the verse and pray, using your chosen reminder time.
- This uses your device’s notification system (local notifications) and may require notification permission.
To show ads and support the App
- We integrate Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads) to display ads.
- AdMob may collect device and usage information to show, measure, and improve advertisements.
- Ads help keep the App free to use.
To improve stability and user experience (indirectly via third parties)
- Third-party providers (such as ad networks) may use aggregated, anonymized, or pseudonymized data for analysis, troubleshooting, and service improvement.
We do not sell your personal data.
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services that may collect information used to identify you or your device:
3.1 Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK)
We use Google AdMob to serve ads within the App. AdMob may collect:
- Device identifiers (such as Advertising ID)
- IP address
- Approximate location (e.g., based on IP)
- App usage and interaction with ads
AdMob may use this data to:
- Serve ads, including personalized or non-personalized ads
- Limit ad frequency
- Combat fraud and abuse
- Measure ad performance
You can learn more about how Google uses information from apps that use its services here:

Google’s general Privacy Policy:
https://policies.google.com/privacy
You can control ad personalization through your device settings and Google Ad Settings:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads (or similar, varies by device)
- Web: https://adssettings.google.com
3.2 Bible verse API provider
To retrieve Bible verse text, the App may use a third-party Bible API (e.g., a publicly available service). That service may log:
- IP address and technical request details
- Bible references requested
Their collection and use of data is governed by their own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review on their official website.
3.3 Local notification library
We use a React Native notifications library (such as react-native-push-notification) to schedule local notifications on your device. This library interacts with the Android/iOS notification systems. It is primarily used to:
- Request notification permissions (where required)
- Schedule local daily notification reminders
We do not use this library to send remote (push) notifications or to collect personal-identifiable information.
4. Data Storage and Retention
4.1 On-device storage
- Your prayers, journal entries, and settings are stored locally on your device.
- The data remains on your device until:
- You delete it within the App (if the App provides deletion options), or
- You uninstall the App from your device.
We do not automatically back up your content to our own servers. However, your device’s operating system or cloud backup (e.g., Google Drive backup) may include the App’s local data according to your device settings.
4.2 Third-party storage
- Ad-related data and request logs may be stored by Google/AdMob and the Bible verse API provider in accordance with their own retention policies.
- We do not control the duration or details of their data retention.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We may share or allow access to information in the following limited circumstances:
With service providers
- Third-party services (e.g., Google AdMob, Bible API provider) that help us operate and support the App. They process data according to their own privacy policies.
For legal reasons
- To comply with a legal obligation or valid legal process (such as a court order or government request).
- To protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of Rising Star IT Services, our users, or others.
Business transfers
- If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or similar business transaction, user-related information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or a successor policy.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the App.
- If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information within the App that has been transmitted to us, please contact us using the details below. We will take steps to investigate and delete such information if required.
If you intend to publish the App for a young audience, you must also comply with additional laws and policies (such as COPPA, Google Play Families Policy, etc.) beyond the scope of this template.
7. Your Choices and Controls
7.1 Managing notifications
- You can enable or disable daily reminders from within the App’s Settings screen.
- You can also turn off notifications for the App entirely in your device’s system settings.
7.2 Managing ads and ad personalization
- You can limit or disable ad personalization using your device settings (e.g., “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android) or through Google Ad Settings: https://adssettings.google.com
- Even if you opt out of personalized ads, you may still see non-personalized (contextual) ads.
7.3 Managing your content
- You can edit or delete your prayers and journal entries from within the App.
- Uninstalling the App will remove the App and its local storage from your device. Data stored solely on your device will generally be deleted as part of uninstalling, subject to your device’s backup/restore features.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information processed through the App. However:
- No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
- We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your device secure (e.g., using a device passcode or biometric lock).
- Not sharing your device or backups with unauthorized persons, especially if your prayers or journals contain sensitive personal information.
9. International Data Transfers
Our App may be used from any country. Third-party service providers like Google (AdMob) and Bible API providers may process data on servers located in different countries or regions.
By using the App, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
- If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
- In some cases, we may also provide an in-app notice or other communication.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
